A lot of providers are advertising 1 cent robocalls and the lowest prices. It’s a good gimmick, but here is what you should know:
You will pay 1 cent for every number on your list. However, you need to remember that a large number of calls will never get through. So you end up paying for busy signals, no answers, disconnected phone lines and wrong numbers. You end up paying for calls that are never placed.
And if there are “retries” to the calls that don’t get through, you may end up paying another 1 cent to call the same disconnected number.
Moreover, if someone hangs up in the first 10 seconds, you’re paying 1 cent for that too. The deal may also be accompanied by a high minimum order — in other words, a huge list of phone numbers that is much bigger than what you need or want.
This is how you can save: Only pay for calls that actually deliver your message. In other words, pay for what you use, not for what you don’t use. And pay in 6 second increments, not for full minutes. If someone hangs up in the first 6 or 12 seconds, you should only pay for the time you were connected.
